a BLOOMING experience. :)
As most of my friends know. I'm currently in a band called Parallel Parking.
I play the bass guitar. :D Our band consists of my two sisters, Roxanne and Jamie, and my two cousins, Mikel and Stephen.

I guess our first "gig" was somewhere in SM molino where we played with a band called Northborder. After that, people started requesting if we could play in their bars and stuff.
At first i wasn't really excited about the places where we were playing. In fact it sometimes bored me. Then a few months later, my grandmother from my mom's side got an unexpected call.

Her cousin had called up because he had found us on youtube. He wanted us to play in a place called Eastwood city. The best part of his offer was not the place, but who we were playing for. He had texted my grandmother:

"Pwede ba sila tumugtog kasama ang Bloomfields?"

LOL. at first i laughed at the idea, i thought it was some kind of joke. Until my grandmother told me that we were actually related to Pepe and JayJay, the two main singers of the band. I was completely dumbstrucked, and so were the rest of my relatives. We were scheduled to play for them on April 16th.(which was, BTW, Camille's birthday.) The day before our "gig" i had felt mixed emotions. Happy, Excited, Confused and really nervous. I mean, who wouldn't? Meeting a band who you are actually related to? Playing somewhere you've never played before?

The night before the gig, I couldn't sleep actually. Ask Camille, she knows. We were all excited. When i woke up in the morning we practiced, and we left the house at 4:00 pm. We drove to Eastwood city, and arrived there 7:00 in the evening. We were thirty minutes early. We walked around the " Alabang-like" place, and after minutes of searching we finally found the spot were we were suppose to play. It was in the middle, encircled by restaurants and it was an open area. It was simply beautiful.

We ate, then minutes later The Bloomfields have arrived. ( To those who don't know them, they are a band who sings old songs like the songs of The Beatles and The Beach Boys. ANOTHER SHAMELESS PLUG: http://thebloomfieldsband.com) They sang a first set then it was our turn. I looked at the crowd and I even got more nervous, because the crowd that we had was not like the others, these were socialites who have gourmet foods for breakfast and don't walk around in old slippers. No, the worst part is they might even compare us with the Bloomfields. But I was wrong, after our first song they were clapping, then it rained. The people started leaving and getting out of their seats, BUT they did not leave from the place, instead they all ran for cover from the rain. It just meant one thing: They liked us. Which was a relief. After the show the Bloomfields manager talked to us and offered us to play in Bluewave. I hope we do, and after that the Band congratulated us and even took pictures with us. One of the band members, whom i idolized so much was Rocky, He' the drummer that sings and has the most amazing american accent. :D i took a picture with with him, and the bass guitarist, Louie, was making fun of us. xD

:D it really was a BLOOMING experience.

NOW FOR THE PICS!
Me with rocky. (checkout the Louie in the background. haha.)
